Free holidays

Holidays are expensive, as those who holiday on Isla Mujeres know, especially if they stay in a hotel for the duration of their stay. Apart from the cost of the hotel there is the cost of eating out all the time and it can get a little complicated for those with children; trying to dine out with exhausted children, after being on the go all day.

The most practical and inexpensive way is to rent a villa. We rent three bedroom three bathroom Luxury Isla Mujeres villas with lush gardens and a pool, depending on the season for as low as $350.00 per night. Then families can eat out, or chose to eat in, with the option of then putting the children to bed and relaxing with a drink by the pool.

There are those who have retired and made Isla Mujeres there permanent home, which is a very smart move especially for retirees who worry about safety and security; surveys have shown that as people get older they worry more about the risk of break ins or street robbery, neither of those are going to happen on Isla Mujeres, there are few places in the world, if any, that are safer.

So how can this group of people get free holidays? We are always told that nothing is free, which is probably true; "no such thing as a free lunch". However there are a very small number of retirees on Isla Mujeres who are getting free holidays. Although they live permanently on the island, they rent out there home just at peak times, we rent are homes at peak season at $650. 00 USD per night but let us say it is a more modest home or apartment, and it could rent for $200.00 per night, renting it for just four weeks a year would produce $8,800 less expenses. That would pay for quite a holiday, perhaps a cruise, or to visit family back home at Christmas and treat the grandchildren.

So after all there is a free lunch, if you own property on Isla Mujeres.
