Where have Isla Mujeres tourists gone?

In the past few months visitors to the Isla Mujeres have dropped significantly, those who have properties to rent through the various webpages that advertise holiday rentals have felt the impact of this. The income has dwindled but the expenses have not.
So what has caused this sudden drop in tourism on Isla Mujeres? It is the same thing that has caused the stock market and Bitcoin to drop and “experts” to predict doom and gloom. It’s an overreaction as usual to a temporary situation, it doesn’t take long for people to panic and stop spending.
Of course a major factor in people going into panic mode is the press; sadly there isn’t a single legacy media news outlet that you can trust. People find it strange and ask, but how can they all be telling the same mistruths? That is easily answered, by looking at who has a controlling interest in virtually all there news outlets, Blackrock and State Street.
So what is happening? Trump, who the Democrats tell us is worse than Hitler, is trying to bring back manufacturing to America, a good thing one might think but apparently not according to the press, he is being demonized for trying to help ordinary Americans.
He says that it is unfair for a US company to manufacture their products in countries like Vietnam, exploiting cheap labour and then bring those products back and sell them in the US, meanwhile there are Americans who need jobs. You cannot politely ask these companies and countries to play fair, it doesn’t work, hence the tariffs. People don’t respond to being nice, not in the real world, that’s where Trump comes in. is he a bully? Probably, but that’s what is needed. Perhaps people should ask themselves, which future they prefer for their children, a nuclear war or tariffs.
So where does this leave Isla Mujeres? Making the US prosperous again, will be good for Isla Mujeres and anywhere that benefits from Americans spending money. In reality rentals have been down for a long time, in 2024 because of an understandable fear that the US was going to take the country into war and now tariffs.
Is sensible to take a property off the holiday rental market and rent it long term as many property owners are now doing? it is if that is the only way expenses can be covered. When the market does recover Isla Mujeres will come back even stronger than before.
